Hi all

The National Trust are going to put up a new sign on the gate to include with some emphasis, that pilots must not land on the raised beach or the adjacent fields.

Also, our club Sites Officer Steve jones has emailed Skywings with a notice reminding people of the site rules.

There have been some suggestions leaning towards making the site members only.  I don't think this would work as the site has open access and would be too difficult to police.

We now know the identity of the main culprit concerning the incident with the farmer.  I suspect that he may well not be a member of any club and possibly not a BHPA member either so making the site members only would not work in this case.

Again, the commitee thanks all members for remonstrating with these individuals and bringing the incident to the attention of the membership.

New more prominent signs will be a good start, most people are ignorant of the fact that payment is required, and therefore ignorant of the site rules, the current sign on the gate is highly missable.

An article in Skywings will also do a lot of good, i believe Nick is on the case.

Some people are just selfish arseholes of course, and you won't stop them doing as they please, but thats true in all walks of life.

Problems at Rhossilli

Easter saw a lot of stupidity and rule breaking at Rhossilli, as indicated by the article on the home page of this website.

Given that it's been a flying site for over 30 years to my knowledge, maybe longer, I think we need to ensure that we don't lose it!!

On two of the days in question, I tried to ensure that everyone was aware of the site rules whilst I was there. But I can not be there all the time and can only advise and not enforce!!

I know Nick and Steve are planning to get something in Skywings.

It might be a good idea if everyone carries printed copies of the the site guide whenever they attend the site and hands them to any visiting pilots?

What do you think?
