Christmas Dinner 2011
« Reply #1 on: October 15, 2011, 22:43:29 PM »
Hi Everyone,

This year’s Christmas dinner will be held on Saturday 10th December 19:30 at the Pontadawe Inn.  It will be great if you could join us and get together where we can all enjoy a night reminiscing our 2011 flying experiences. Partners and friends are more than welcome to join us in what’s set up to be a fantastic night.

A £5 pound per person deposit was required per person however I realised that this would be a nightmare so I have negotiated with the Club Committee and it has been agreed that the club will sub this payment on your behalf and be reimbursed on the night. (Thank you to the committee for agreeing this arrangement).

There are two options. 2 courses @ £9.99 or 3 courses £11.99 there is a vegetarian option which will have a (V) in the sentence.

Starters

1.      Tomato and Basil Soup (V) Served with bread roll and butter.

2.      Breaded Mushrooms (V) Breaded Mushrooms with a garlic mayonnaise dip.

3.      Prawn Cocktail Prawns on iceberg lettuce with Marie Rose Sauce, served with brown bread and butter.

Main Course

All Main Courses are served with new roast potatoes and a selection of vegetables.

4.      Roast Turkey Hand carved by our chefs, served with sage and onion stuffing, bread sauce and cranberry sauce.

5.      Rump Steak with Tewkesbury Mustard Sauce An 8oz rump steak, cooked to your liking and served with a half grilled tomato
a. (Well Done)    b. (Medium Well Done)    c. (Medium)      d. (Medium Rare)       e. (Rare)

6.      Roasted Rooted Vegetable Cobbler (V) Celeriac, carrots and leeks in a rich Marston’s Owd Roger ale sauce, topped with Red Leicester and sage scones.
  Dessert

7.      Christmas Pudding Served with brandy sauce

8.      White chocolate and Raspberry Snowflake Cheesecake Smooth white chocolate cheesecake marbled and tangy raspberry sauce, set on a crisp digestive biscuit crumb and finished with cream and white chocolate shavings. Served with a vanilla ice cream.

9.      Yuletide Crumble Cranberries, blackberries, apple and plump sultanas steeped in spiced mulled wine compote and topped with a crunchy crumble. Served with custard.

Can you please respond either replying to this topic or Personal message to me no later than 1st November 2011.
Note: if you choose 5. Rump Steak please include your preference i/e 5a is a well done steak.
