Looking at your GPS logs with Google Earth

For those who may wish to look at their flight paths etc for analysis using Google Earth or Google Maps, this is how I do it with my Garmin:

1) Upload the track to Mapsource.
2) Go to File and Save as and save file as a .gdb on your desktop or somewhere you can find it.
3) Ensure you have Google Earth installed from the download section at : http://earth.google.com/
4) Once installed, then navigate to this url : http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/
5) Select the option on screen "Google Earth KML file" or go direct to : http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map?form=googleearth
6) In track options change option to "Absolute for flights" in the altitude section.
7) Then upload your file by browsing to it (right side of screen)
8) As long as you have Google Earth, you should be able to click the link and it loads your tracks.
9) Select a track from inside google earth by double clicking and it will take you to that track (better with broadband)
10) To pan/tilt, use middle mouse scroller or top right or program clicking on arrows.

Here is an example of some of my tracks:
