It made me laugh out loud. It was Ifor's first time at Cwmafan, and a bit unstable for me, but Andyh was giving it a go, so I got my Firebird out for some groundhandling. They were launching from the windiest edge of the hill, so I laid out behind and clear of the boys, just a few feet higher nearer the crest. The venturi effect is particularly noticeable just there. As I turned to get my helmet on, the cells of my partially erected wall inflated and she started to slide along the ground. I reached out to grab one set of risers to bring her round, tripped and landed belly first on the open harness, which by now was moving a bit faster! Before I could detach the brakes we were skating along the ground at a fair lick! On hearing my wail of despair the boys turned to see me face down, heels up heading through the cowpats faster than walking speed! Nick heroically managed to head me off a good 30 feet away, not bad for a man with pins in his back, you have to respect his level of fitness. The most amazing bit of luck was that we'd missed all the cowpats! Just a bit of mud on trousers. Every trip out gives you another lesson learned.
