4/4/09. Rhossili. WNW 15-25-15mph. 10c... got to car park early afternoon, Gerry already on the hill, a quick chat on the radio to let him know the rabel has arrived, it was a little strong but he caught a lull just right, it made us hurry to take off, but then it picked up just as Gerry landed back on top after a half hr flight to 25mph, so parawaitng and chattin for half hr, really didnt expect it to calm till late afternoon so we left the kit up top with Viv and went for refreshments.. an hr later we got back up top to find it starting to be in our favour, so all quickly got ready, ..thanks Paul h and Gerry for being anchors for my tandem, we stayed up for a good 1.20hrs gettin bout 1000ft asl... all landed back on top safley... beautiful sunset

3/4/09. Marros. SSE 9-15mph. 10c... arrived at Marros with Scot and Loo, along with Tom and Gerry, there was a 9mph breeze on the hill, too weak for soaring so we all did ground handling for an hr or more with the hope the mist would rise and the breeze to get right, it did start to get stronger allowing us to just hop about around the field, always fun, all good practice, Scot had a rest so I nicked his glider, far too big for me, the breeze was genlte enough for me to actually start to soar with this big wing.. but the mist was not rising.. could only get 60ft ato before you disapeared completely, so had to keep it low, after bout 15mins the wind started to increase so it was time to fly my wing, I tested the air, it was good the mist rose a little, letting us get 95ft ato, the boys getting in the air too, occasionally the mist was getting thicker so safley one pilot at a time flew, all very friendly, its all good practice, then the mist cleared and it was beautiful, so all back in the air again, for a short spell before it died off, we all had about an hrs flight all in all and were happy with that... packed up then of course went for beer

29/3/09. Rhossili. SW 14-17mph. 14c...got there late, was soon joined by Chris, Tina and Rob...Gerry and Jarred were there waiting, only managing little hops, Viv and Paul H ground handling... we arrived up top got our kit ready and in a few mins were up and away, the sea breeze was'nt quite strong enough to take over the SW meteo wind so it made it bumpy, a little nerving sometimes.... Gerry, Chris and me got a good grand asl and 40mins air time, Chris and I land back up top... it was cold and the breeze very South... so time for a beer and a social.

21/3/09. Rhossili. NW-N 9-14-21mph+, 13c...met up with the usual motly crew...good to see Chris D out again...nice new wing he's got... breeze too weak to start...we're all gettin ready coz we can feel it gettin stronger, could see it on the water, it got to 14mph and had a lot of N in it so I head straight to the cliffs, by the time the others wanted to jump it suddenly got up to 21mph and increasing... I maintianed hieght over the cliffs but flew mostley on speedbar... after 25mins it was gettin rougher and stronger, so decided to land.. then had a good 30mins ground handling... its good the season is starting to happen..
