Steve,

When I saw the Google logo you used in this post it intrigued me.

I guess you know this already ...

UPDATE - Method 3 - Direct from desktop

I forgot to mention this method:

Under the reply box is "Additional options" - click the + sign.

Then add the image as an attachment - JPG, GIF, MPG, PNG, BMP up to 2mb per file / 10 per post.
Don't forget it uploads the image/video to our server so it will take a few mins or so on a slow connection.

I have added this from my desktop:

FAQ - Adding images/videos to forum posts

Here are some methods of adding pictures and videos to the forums :)

PICTURES

You can add external images (pictures hosted elsewhere on the internet) or images that have been uploaded to the SWWSC gallery.

Method 1  - External Images

I am going to add an image that is hosted elsewhere. To do this, first click the image above that looks like this :

This inserts the following into your post which is special code :
Code: [Select]
[img][/img]
You then enter the external address between the code - so for example :
Code: [Select]

Will display:

Another example:

Code: [Select]

Will display :

Method 2  - SWWSC Hosted Images

These are images that you have uploaded to the gallery on the SWWSC website: http://www.swwsc.co.uk/index.php?action=mgallery

If you want to show one of your uploaded photos, first go to the gallery and upload the photos.
Ok, I would like to show a photo in the post. This time, instead of clicking , just copy and paste the BBC embed code from under the photo :

ie :

[smg id= 657]
Will display:

or equally, copying and pasting the HTML embed code :

Code: [Select]
<img src="http://www.swwsc.co.uk/MGalleryItem.php?id=657" alt="" />

Ok hopefully that will clear up confusion about adding images.

Adding video is easier. The website software will detect code from sites like youtube and google video automatically. On youtube, next to the video, code will be given to embed videos which will look like:

Code: [Select]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKwxMjuSAgM
Pasting this into a post will display the video automatically :

paragliding

Or a google example:

Code: [Select]
http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docid=3134755677804478220&hl=en&fs=true
http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docid=3134755677804478220&hl=en&fs=true

Please feel free to "have a go" , if it doesn't work, leave it for myself or Neil to check it out :)

Regards
Steve
