Ok managed to tweak some code to show Username & Realname by each post. Some people have the same for both. Hopefully this is of benefit :)

Hi everyone. I'm new here but hope to make this my second home
Just wondered if you could do the same as the paragliding forum where they display pseudonyms but just underneath they display the persons real name (this is only on display to members). I don't personally mind but some do like to be known by their nicknames.

If God wanted us to fly he would of invented a wing we could hang under via a cascade of strings and....... oh wait

yeah Reech I had the same problem too out on the hill so it was decided for me to be Stevie G... but I think I have a simple solution, I will bring it up at the agm in April and see if the guys are up for it : )

Stevie is it something I could look at doing "in the background" with the site? before the AGM to see if your idea will work? PM me if you want :)

I started using 'Reech' as my webby name a few years back 'cause there's so many Richards about and it was causing confusion.............

The use of real names on website
« Reply #1 on: September 29, 2009, 04:30:35 PM »
Agreed by the Club Committee - Autumn Meeting

Please note we are trying to encourage the use of real names on the website instead of a pseudonym name. This will allow people to interact better with each other and get to know people on the site and the hill. Please follow the instructions below to change your display name for the website. Eventually this will be "enforced" in a gentle way so accounts display real names.

To change your display name:

1) Log into the website.
2) Click here : http://www.swwsc.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;area=account
3) Change second bit down called "Name" and underneath reads "This is the displayed name that people will see." to display your real name.
4) To then make the changes, it will ask you to enter your current password, put this in the bottom field marked "Current Password: " and then click on the button "Change Profile"

Please note that your login username is still the same - the display name is what others see you as on the website

Many thanks for your co-operation

Steve
