08/09/2010 CwmAfan :Ozone Element Forecast was S, backing SW later.

Arrived at the site at around 10:00 with Gerry. Gerry got in the Air and I followed couldn’t get the height that Gerry was getting at first, very bumpy in some places and a bit twitchy. I Carried out a couple of top landings, got a little hairy lost my lift and had to bail out in the bottom field…. Long walk back to the top, was greeted by Stevie J :o ).
I Had a bit of lunch and got back in the air, managed to get over the trees and get some lift approx 1300 feet which was fantastic. I was in constant communication with Gery who was keeping an eye on my, thanks Gerry. Steveie J suggested Mynydd Dinas so packed up , paid farmer and headed off…. :o )

3/8/10...BrynCaws...SE 15mph...20c... Ozone Element
Got there in the afternoon as I was nights the night before, I met up with Stevie From the air hovering over me when I was trying to locate the correct track…. who was shouting driving instructions, very busy on the hill. I carried out some soaring which was brilliant; Stevie G was in the background on the radio keeping an eye. Cheers Stevie. I had approximately half an hour’s flight until the wind dropped.

30/8/10...Fan G...N-NW 12-15mph...16c...Ozone Element.
Wind slightly NE
Arrived at top gate of Fan G with Stevie G and Gerry circa 10am Steve W was half way up the ridge.  I entered the bowl with Gerry and Steve in radio communication keeping an eye on me which I was extremely grateful for.
I got a little low at one point and thought I was going down but luckily Gerry helped me get back up radio control scratching extremely closely to the hill :o )  a good lesson learnt.  Some quite scary moments with some lively thermals which made me twitch a bit, character building …. I carried out a number of top landings 3 flights of approximately 30 min’s each time. It went a little weak to fly as Steve found out by having to land at the bottom. Nasher, Jon, Rob and Tina turn up but a little to weak to fly however stevie and jon managed to get up and get some height…
finally with Nasher by my side I carried out a top to bottom landing by my car in the car park, no wind taking off so had to forward launch. I had the fright of my life when I was committed and nasher shouted “STOP” I think…… after the twitching I managed to land by the field right by the car, Gerry controlled me in. Nil wind. Amazing day thanks to Gerry Stevie and Nasher
