Thanks John. Just to confirm I would like to attend all the briefing sessions and have a go at the pilot exam if possible.

Just saw Andy's post regarding bringing anything up before the committee meeting on the 17th. It's probably been mentioned before but I wonder whether it would be feasable to have a few master classes on various aspects of flying a paraglider. For example: groundhandling technique - Cookie would be brilliant at this down at Aberavon. Spirals: Stevie G does them really well; XC flying, again Nick, Chris D or Steve J really know their stuff; safety/sensible flying - your humble self and so on. ... Just a thought and perhaps no one else would be interested or people wouldn't have the time to give to coach others. But there is a lot of talent and knowledge within the club which would really help the less experienced amongst us to improve their technique and safety and enjoy their flying more.

Does anybody else feel it would be useful?

« Reply #1 on: October 29, 2010, 21:18:36 PM »

After last years very successful pilot briefing sessions, Nick Roberts and myself have decided to do it again.

Dates & Times:

Saturday 26th February 2011:         14:00 - 17:00 Meteorology Briefing
Sunday 27th February 2011:           10:00 - 14:00 Airlaw & Navigation Briefing

Saturday 5th  March 2011:             14:00 - 17:00 Flight Theory & Instruments Briefing
Sunday 6th March  2011:               10:00 - 12:00 The Exam - followed by a pint in the pub!

Will vary the times if it's flyable

Requirements:

Any SWWSC member is welcome to come along for the briefings, regardless of their rating or experience.

However, if you wish to sit the exam you must:

Have completed all the other Pilot tasks by then
Have not sat the exam within the last 4 months prior to 6th March.

Location:

Exact location will be Dependent on numbers, but it will be in or around  Pontardawe (centre of the universe!)

Let me know if you're interested and whether you want to sit the exam or not.
